Solidoodle have announced that 3Dörtgen will be the first 3D printer store in Turkey when it opens September 3 in Istanbul’s Camlica district.
3Dörtgen will stock a full line of Solidoodle 3D printers and filament products. The Solidoodle printers start at $499 for the 2nd Generation Solidoodle and $799 for the latest 3rd Generation model.
“I am excited to see that the 3D printing and the larger maker movement is a worldwide phenomena,” says Solidoodle founder Sam Cervantes. “The addition of 3Dörtgen as a distribution partner is a great opportunity to bring affordable desktop 3D printing to Turkey with a company that has had a strong presence in its own community for decades.”
After running a family firm of construction and automobile businesses Furkan Bakir created 3Dörtgen as he wanted to invest in something that was innovative, creative and revolutionary. Their 200 square-meter store will also offer 3D scanning, 3D design tools, professional 3D printing services and a cafe.
To further promote 3D printing in the community a Fab Lab Istanbul will also be opened next door to 3Dörtgen with both organizations promoting the technology through workshops, seminars and events.
Solidoodle will donate one of their 3D printers to Fab Lab Istanbul so that locals can start to experience what 3D printing could offer them in the future.
