3D printer company Stratasys has announced that they are collaborating with German company Scheu Dental GmbH to offer orthodontic labs a complete digital solution.
3D printing has proved useful in the dental orthodontics field as part of a complete digital solution and is becoming the industry standard way to operate. A digital system allows orthodontist labs to shorten delivery times, increase client capacity and eliminate the need to store the models that are required for patient treatment.
“Scheu Dental has worked closely with Stratasys to qualify the complete process required to produce orthodontic appliances using Scheu Dental equipment.”, Stratasys director of global dental Avi Cohen continued, “Stratasys’s goal is to provide productive and complete digital solutions to the market by teaming up with the leading orthodontic equipment and materials provider. This collaboration will provide dental labs with a full digital lab solution that sets new productivity standards.”
Stratasys recently launched the new Objet30 OrthoDesk 3D printer that has been specially developed for smaller orthodontic labs and clinics. The Objet30 OrthoDesk uses specialized dental printing materials stored in sealed cartridges and prints stone models, delivery and positioning trays, orthodontic appliances, clear, aligners, surgical guides and retainers.
