Star Trek 3DMe Figures

Use a photo of your face to create yourself as a Star Trek figure

Cubify, 3D Systems’ 3D printing service, has launched a new Star Trek 3DMe figure printing service. The web app allows you to upload a photo of your face and then create a full-color, personalized 3D figurine of themselves in an original series uniform.

Trekkies first select the type of model they’d like, one wielding a phaser, a tricorder, showing the Vulcan greeting or in a basic pose. Then the color of shirts is picked either yellow, blue or red (which signifies command, science or operations staff) along with the rank which includes, Ensign, Lieutenant, Lt. Commander, Commander or Captain.

Two digital photos are needed to create the likeness and they must be well lit and with a neutral expression, one shot facing the camera and one in side profile.

After handing over $69.95 your freshly 3D printed full-color figure is delivered within 10 working days.

This is the latest line of 3D printed figures that are available on Cubify, which are all printed on a 5-color 3D Systems ZPrinter 650 printer.

It’s possible that Cubify will offer uniforms from all of the different Star Trek series’, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager. In fact, you can vote on the Star Trek 3DMe page for the one that you’d like to be offered next.
