If you’re on a budget and need a 3D printer to output large format objects then your choices are limited. The large industry leaders offer large build volume models but these are very expensive. Airwolf have take note of this gap in the home 3D printer market and now offer the AW3D XL which can print objects up to a volume of 670 cubic inches.
The Airwolf AW3D XL costs $2,295 and is fast and also accurate and with the large build volume can print objects almost three times bigger that most other desktop 3D printers on the market. The XL is based on the original AW3D v5.5 but with a strengthened and enhanced frame that expands the print bed to 12″ x 8″ x 7″.
The original AW3D was know for being indestructible and both printers share the L-shaped layout that provides good accessibility to its components. The XL features a removable nozzle that gives various options for high-speed with a 0.5mm nozzle or high resolution with the finer 0.35mm nozzle. The heated bed now offers temperature control which enhances print quality using different materials.
The AW3D XL now includes an integrated power supply and is able to print with ABS, PLA, nylon, polycarb and LAYWOO-D3. The full specs are shown below:
