Shapeways have just released the latest version of their 3D printer API which makes it easier for developers to create apps to make use of their 3D printing service.
The API enables developers to make apps that make products and join the 8,000 Shapeways Shop Owners who already make money from 3D printed products. These shop owners made nearly $5000,000 in profits last year, according to Shapeways CEO Peter Weijmarshausen.
This latest 3D printer API release had been in private beta test with several Shapeways partners, including Mixee Me, TinkerCad and Nu Bracelet. The API focuses on Shapeways’ marketplace and manufacturing to make it easy to upload 3D models, sell to others and 3D print in over 30 materials including their new Premium Silver.
Shapeways will continually develop the API to add new features, so check out their API docs to keep updated.
