Last month we reported that Nokia were offering phone case 3D printing files for their Lumia 820 cell phones. Now they have partnered with MakerBot to offer optimized versions of those phone cases that print perfectly on their new Replicator 2 3D printers.
The 3D files are now hosted on the MakerBot Thingiverse and the designs can be modified to your own preferences with the MakerBot Customizer. You can change the case pattern, add your own personalized text and in several different fonts.
To promote the partnership MakerBot and Nokia are attending the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, where there will be two Replicator 2 MakerBot 3D printers on the Nokia stand for the duration of the show. If you’re attending, for a chance of winning your own Nokia Lumia 820 phone case follow these guidelines from Nokia:
For a chance to win your very own personalised 3D-printed case, all you have to do is tweet @Nokia_Connects using the hashtag #Lumia820 – something fun, entertaining, witty.
Every day we will pick a few tweets that have used the hashtag and print a personalised Lumia 820 case for them. Runners-up attending MWC will win a custom patterned case by MakerBot.
