Stratasys have just launched the Objet1000 3D printer which is their largest ever. The build platform is 1000mm x 800mm x 500mm (39″ x 31″ x 20″) enabling the 3D printing of huge prototype models. If you’re stuck with a 3D printer that’s only able to produce smalle scale models of your 3D designs then you need the Objet1000 printer to scale up to print full size 1:1 models.
Stratasys are pitching this to designers and engineers who need to product large models in the automotive, defense, aerospace, consumer goods, household appliances and industrial machinery sectors.
It’s not just the size of 3D printed model that sets the Object1000 apart from the competition it’s the fact that it is a multi-material printer. That means that it can print models that contain up to 14 different acrylic materials from a selection of over 100 plastics. this gives the designer the flexibility of creating a 3D prototype that has the look, feel and function of the final product.
The Objet100 can produce 3D printed models over 10 times the volume compared to next biggest Objet 3D printer, the Objet Connex500. Check out this promo video from Stratasys to see what the Objet1000 is capable of.
