Beyond the BFB3000 the V-Flash personal 3D printer is a sub-$10,000 unit that is ideal for the hobbyist or in your office and is able to print durable plastic models within minutes.
The professional ProJet printers are able to print in either plastic or wax depending on the application required. ProJet printers that product RealWax models are ideal for investment casting, jewelry and dental applications and several models can produce hard, durable plastic prototypes, tooling and functional parts to accelerate product development. Specialist wax materials are also available for dental applications.
3D Systems stereolithography (SLA) systems use your 3D CAD data to convert a liquid plastic material or composite into solid cross-sections, layer by layer, to build highly accurate three-dimensional models. An ultraviolet laser is then used to cured a liquid resin into very thin layers, including interior and exterior cavities, to closely mimic injection-molded parts. SLA systems quickly manufacture parts of different geometries at the same time and are designed to produce prototypes, patterns or end-use parts of versatile sizes and applications. iPro SLA produces high-definition parts and patterns at a high throughput, which maximizes the entire build volume. The Viper SLA System will build small to medium-sized prototypes, concepts and communication models and gives the option of two resolutions.
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
3D Systems SLS printers allow you to develop parts in plastic or metal materials that are tough and durable. Small or large, simple and complex parts can be produced with SLS and are able to be used to directly test functionality, form and fit, temperature resistance and durability of the design.
