am selling my Robo 3D R1 Plus 3D printer. I’ve had it a little over a year and used it to print prototypes for my school design project. We are done printing prototypes, so I’m looking to get a smaller printer after I sell this one.
I’ve just installed a completely new hot end (hot end, thermistor, and heating element) and glass build plate, directly from Robo 3D. I’ve also added a PEI sheet onto the bed so that you can easily print ABS parts directly on to that, and not have to worry about glue or making ABS slurry with acetone. I am asking for $650 because it is essentially a newly refurbished machine. I printed one test print after installing all the new parts just to make sure it was all functioning properly. I can also throw in 2 new 1kg rolls of PLA filament and a bunch of mostly used rolls of various colors and materials if you’d like. When purchasing this printer from me, I will also give you an extra thermistor, a used hot end (still functions, just figured I’d put a new one on before selling it), and a 3mm hot end that I used once to try a larger filament. I will also put it in the original box with all the styrofoam and the tool box it came with.
As for the printer, it is an exceptional one. The quality and finish of prints is even better than some of the more expensive Makerbot printers in my college’s lab. The build volume is 8″ x 9″ x 10″ I believe, which is very large for the price point and should accommodate anything you’d need to print. It uses 1.75mm filament and can print ABS, PLA, and various other materials listed on the Robo 3D website. It comes with MatterControl to control the printer and works off open source code on an Arduino board. The company has a wonderful 24/7 customer support staff that has helped me learn how to 3D print from the beginning. If you have a major problem, you can even schedule a video chat appointment with one of their experts. I can also answer questions you might have with printing.
